Perfect Destination

September 21, 2009

Destination weddings can be beautiful, unique and fun for everyone!  However, they can be a nightmare if not planned correctly.  The last thing you want on your special weekend is unhappy guests who view your wedding weekend as a vacation for themselves.

My friends Beth and Leo just got married over Labor Day Weekend in La Jolla, CA (just outside San Diego).  They went above and beyond with all the details, logistics and travel arrangements making the weekend relaxing and fun for all the guests.

This lounge area is where everyone gathered on Friday night after their rehearsal dinner.  It was within the grounds of the resort . It was great for all the guests to see the bride and groom the night before their wedding.

These are the beautiful rooms we stayed in which was just steps away from all the activity including the wedding.   We never had to leave the resort – everything was right there.  Which is great for the guests to not have to worry about renting cars, drinking & driving etc…. The resort was very organized with transportation if you wanted to go into town.

Here are some shots from the beautiful wedding. All the colors matched the resort perfectly.  The weather was amazing and all the guests were relaxed and having fun.

The ceremony was so romantic and the cocktail hour was immediately following so it was really convienient for all the guests.

The dinner and dancing took place in a gorgeous and modern dining room with many great features.  It was located at the resort as well.  The following day Beth and Leo hosted a breakfast at the resort to say thank you and good bye.  The sun was shinning and it was the perfect way to end such a fantastic and romantic weekend.

It was not only a wonderful weekend because my friend’s were getting married but as a guest it was the perfect weekend of relaxation and fun too!  If you are planning to host a destination wedding keep your guests comfort in mind while making all the arrangements.
